Je souhaite à tous un bel automne!

I leave you with this song that I have been singing to my children lately:

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Art a gateway in the sky?
Art a little angel's eye?
Shine your starry light to earth,
Bring a thousand stars to birth:
Stars in apple, seedpod, pear,
Stars on berries everywhere.
So you guard me near and far-
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

Inside Our Yurt - Dans notre yourte

Do you remember my Summer Solstice post? Well, this weekend we celebrated autumn equinox by the wood stove, in our (finally!) finished yurt. Here is a peek inside…

the big girls sleep under the dome / les grandes filles dorment sous le dôme

We had a perfect evening with squash soup and toasted fig bread (from a local bakery) on the wood stove. We also made popcorn on the stove and hot chocolate. When it got dark, we played Shadows in The Forest. We took a moment to admire an incredible starry sky outside. We are looking forward to spending many more cosy candlelit evenings in our yurt in the darker months to come.

Keep Calm Craft On: Acorn Hat and Wildflower Dye

Joining Nicole at Frontier Dreams for Keep Calm Craft On…

This week I knit Sacha a new acorn hat for fall. It's a little on the big side, but he seems to like wearing it and is super cosy made with bulky O-Wool.

The wildflowers are really beautiful this time of year, I love all of the gold and purple in the woods and fields around us. The girls and I dyed some of our yarn (from our sheep) with tansy and goldenrod. I love how it came out, a nice soft yellow.

Happy crafting on!
